"But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God's own possession... Once you were not people, but now you are God's people; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy." (I Peter 2.9-10)
We learn more about who we are as we study God's word in Movement groups. As we become a family in our groups, we strive to treat each other according to this identity.
"Keep your conduct among the Gentiles honorable, so that ... they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day of visitation" (I Peter 2.12).
We want to learn to love people both inside and outside our church family. This is why one week a month our Movement groups serve the community instead of meeting in a home.
"...proclaim the excellences of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light." (I Peter 2.9)
As we live out our identity of a royal priesthood (I Peter 2.9), our job is to proclaim the goodness of the gospel in our own lives to those who aren't following Jesus yet. Movement groups welcome new people and help them learn to find their way back to God.
